CLOSING CONCERT / VERANOS DE LA VILLA / 2022
Carmina Burana.
The closing concert of Veranos de la Villa 2022. Spain’s National Choir, the lake in El Retiro and architecture transformed by light.
A monumental finale.
Madrid Produce undertook the design and production of this closing concert. Carl Orff’s work was performed in its version for two pianos and percussion, with Spain’s National Choir conducted by Miguel Ángel García Cañamero.
The monument to Alfonso XII became part of the stage, with lighting designed by Julián Pérez. Music, heritage and public space brought together in a single image.
Carmina Burana is part of Monuments in Concert, alongside Zarzuela Monumental Retiro—the closing event of San Isidro 2023—and Zarzuela Monumental Hispanidad.
