CRAFT / PROCEDURAL
Before the curtain rises.
PROCEDURAL: previsualisation, show programming and technical drawings in support of production.

Technology opens up possibilities, but also brings decisions. Where an image sits, how it works with the lighting and what the team needs to operate it are questions of both design and production.
PROCEDURAL: Madrid Produce’s technical office
PROCEDURAL brings together previsualisation, show programming and technical drawings. It is Madrid Produce’s technical office: a shared foundation for design, production, suppliers and operators to work from the same project.
Previsualisation
Rehearse space, light and imagery before installation. Compare solutions and anticipate decisions.
Show programming
Prepare sequences, synchronisation and control systems for precise show operation.
Technical drawings
Define layouts, positions and technical documentation to coordinate installation and teams.
Imagery is part of the performance
The real-time visuals for Pagliacci and the interactive visuals for Quijotes en Nueva York, by Elephant in the Black Box, illustrate two different approaches to audiovisual work for the stage.
The Tales of Hoffmann, with Bruno Arantes and Felipe Giuliano as visual artists and designers at Teatro Colón, and The Magic Flute are also part of this operatic work. Each production retains its own teams and credits.
Previsualisation does not replace rehearsal. It helps the team arrive with more decisions already resolved.
Zahara Studio is a regular collaborator in audiovisual creation, VFX and real-time content.
Support for the development of PROCEDURAL
PROCEDURAL received a grant from the Community of Madrid, funded by the European Union—NextGenerationEU, under Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
